I’m sure you’re closely following the news about the Coronavirus! I am too! As you work with me, I want you to know that your safety is a priority for me!
I will continue to monitor the situation and I’m following the recommendations of the CDC, local municipalities in which I operate, Virginia Association of Realtors and our Samson Properties Brokers.
The following procedures are implemented for all real estate services:
Appointments and Home Showings and Tours:
Washing/sanitizing our hands before and after every appointment and/or wearing gloves during appointments, and cleaning/sanitizing high touch areas. Having hand wipes and sanitizer available.
I know it’s important that have family/trusted advisers with you, but I ask to limit everyone’s chance of exposure to others.
Handshaking is not permitted, but air high fives, thumbs up, verbal congratulations and smiles are encouraged as we connect or celebrate a successful home sale or purchase.
Open Houses:
I am asking that less than ten people tour the home at any given time, and ask that only one buyer group to tour the home at a time. Be sure that guests maintain social distancing of six or more feet apart, and require potential buyers to wash their hands or to use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer immediately upon entry and to remove shoes/cover footwear with booties. I will check with my clients about using cleaning products, and recommend that your client disinfect their home before after the open house, especially commonly touched areas like doorknobs and faucet handles.
I am also encouraging creative thinking… Using virtual tours, video-tours, and Facetime for example.
Settlements/Closings:
Clients required to sign the closing documents and the client’s realtor would ideally be the only people attending closing. We know how important having their trusted adviser at closing is, but also want to limit everyone’s chance of exposure to others when possible.
It’s highly encouraged that Loan officers, family members (including children) and other third parties refrain from attending closing if at all possible.
Buyers and sellers are highly encouraged to sign their documents at separate times if possible.
The settlement office or conference room shall be sanitized to the best of our ability between each use.
The Settlement Agent will be seated more than six feet from the clients signing the settlement documents to comply with the CDC’s social distancing recommendations.
Clients must be in good health at the time of the signing and must not display any flu-like symptoms.
Handshaking is not permitted, but air high fives, thumbs up, verbal congratulations and smiles are encouraged as we celebrate a successful home sale or purchase.
Hard copies of documents will not be provided to clients. Electronic copies of the signed documents will be securely e-mailed to clients following the closing.
I am committed to following best practices and guidelines so that I can serve you safely.
I’ve always been here for you. That won’t change, especially in these critical times. Please reach out to me whenever you have questions or need assistance. I’m just a phone call away!
