Wednesday Lunch Concert Series
Escape the office for a little serenity each Wednesday in June to enjoy the Wednesday Lunch Concert Series. Concerts take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Harris Pavilion. What a great way to destress in the middle of a hectic workday! Check out the schedule to experience bluegrass, classical gospel music and more all summer long.
City of Manassas Farmers Market
Beginning in April, this shoppers’ favorite farmers market is open on Thursdays in the Harris Pavilion in Historic Downtown Manassas. Saturdays the market is located in parking lot B behind the Harris Pavilion from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit the website for more information.
Trivia Night at Heritage Brewing Company
Slide on into the tap room every Thursday night for trivia from 6:30 to 10. You’ll find a wide variety of categories and questions and lots of fun! The winning team gets four free pints on the house. Teachers who present a valid ID get $4 pints all night. Bring your competitive spirit and get ready to show your stuff!
Hylton Performing Arts Center
For a variety of shows in the area, check out the Hylton Performing Arts Center’s calendar. Upcoming events include Manassas Chorale: Postcards From America, Gainesville Ballet’s spring recital, Youth Center Stage Summer Theater Camp, Junk Music™ With The Junkman™: The Sound of Found Objects, and more. Enjoy special events at shops and restaurants in historic Manassas on the first Friday of each month. This month’s event is June 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. You can take in a new exhibit by John Singleton Mosby at the Manassas Museum; live music from Harlen Simple plus cornhole and kanjam in the street at the Philadelphia tavern; an Eye Spy activity, book reading and more at Scatter Seeds; more live music at Macky’s and Heritage Brewing; and a book signing by local author Sam McLeod at Prospero’s. Come be a part of these wonderful evenings!
N&W Class J 611 Steam Engine Excursions and Railway Festival
The American excursion is a half-day, 102-mile roundtrip through the rolling hills of Northern Virginia over former Southern Railway tracks, taking place June 4 and 5. You’ll enjoy historic landmarks and beautiful sites along the way. This excursion will run Saturday morning (only) and then again on Sunday morning and afternoon. On Saturday afternoon, enjoy the 22st Annual Manassas Heritage Railway Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ticket prices vary. Visit the website for more information.
